By his choice of Ryan today, Romney has signaled that this will be the focus of his fall campaign -- a reformed conservatism aimed at getting the country's fiscal house in order. 

Paul Ryan will be an excellent partner to Governor Romney in this effort. 

Governor Romney had a choice when picking a running mate -- to be bold or comfortable, another choice would have been political or governing. He choose bold and he choose governing. I think that's going to serve him well in the remaining months of the campaign.

Democrats are going to jump on this pick, saying we did so well with the television ad in which we had a Paul Ryan-like character pushing grandma over the cliff, that we'll be able to do much better among seniors. First of all, seniors are deeply concerned about the deficit. Paul Ryan will be able to patiently explain to them what he and Governor Romney advocate. Governor Romney's endorsed the House budget.
